The 2016 NBA Finals begin on Thursday, June 2, with Game 1 at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers square off the for the championship for the second straight year. The Warriors won last year’s series in six games.
So how should you tailgate for each venue. Here are some tips:
Oracle Arena in Oakland is located in a sea of parking lots and is located adjacent to the Oakland Alameda Coliseum. Tailgating here will be standard football/baseball type affairs. Expect to be able to take up space and party like there is no end. The most popular lots for tailgating are the A Lot and the B Lot. Tailgating is not permitted after the end of the game and tailgating gear is only allowed in the front or directly behind your vehicle in your parking space.
Quicken Loans Arena, commonly known as “The Q”, is located in downtown Cleveland and causes other issues. The Erie Street Cemetery is the closest piece of open land nearby, but that seems like a bad idea. Instead we would head to the Cleveland Public Square and set up a small event there.
