New car season is here! With all the new models dropping from the major manufacturers, we have one question on our minds: Which new car models are perfect for tailgating? So we did a little digging and came up with a list of the best 2023 new car models ideal to take to the stadium. These cars have a ton of great features tailgaters will love and are perfect for hosting a killer tailgate anywhere. If you’re thinking about buying a new tailgate car this year, check out some of these options:

1. 2023 Chrysler Pacifica

For years, the Chrysler Pacifica has been a really popular minivan among long-distance tailgaters because of the low gas mileage. That’s because it is the only hybrid minivan on the market. It’s easy to transform from a people hauler to a cargo hauler, making it ideal for loading up all your gear.

The Pacifica also comes with incredible tech-enabled features like wifi and Bluetooth so you can easily stream all the pregame shows you love. However, what makes the Pacifica the best tailgate car is you can leave the car “on” and draw power without burning fuel. With the Pacifica, you can easily use all those cool tailgating gadgets and appliances you love.

2. 2023 Honda Odyssey

Another great minivan option, the Honda Odyssey is a spacious, reliable vehicle. The biggest selling point of this tailgate car is the spacious cargo hold. Not only can the seats be moved to load up, but the back has deep bucket storage that can hold a ton of your gear. The best part about these deep buckets? They can double as drink coolers! Depending on the features package you purchase, it also has a power tailgate, wireless cell phone charging, and wifi compatibility.

3. 2023 Ford Expedition

If you want a tailgating SUV that can do some serious heavy lifting, the Ford Expedition is a great option for a tailgate car. Towing up to 5,900 pounds you can bring a tailgating trailer or a pit BBQ to the games easily. The best part is the tow hooks are also perfect for your canopy.

It also offers 60 cubic feet of storage, more than enough for all your tailgating gear. With an automatic liftgate, it’s also easy to load up. Our favorite feature though is automatic parking. In the crowded stadium parking lot, this can be really helpful to avoid any fender benders.

4. 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Jeeps are most known for their off-road vehicles, but they also make a great tailgate car. That’s because all the features that make them an ideal camping and outdoor adventure vehicle make them ideal for tailgating. They have plenty of cargo space and fold-down seats for when you need a little more.

They’re tech-enabled and like the Ford Expedition has park assist. Our favorite feature is the sound system. With a 19” McIntosh speaker with a 10” subwoofer, your tailgate will be rocking and rolling with great tunes.

5. 2023 Dodge Ram 1500

Now when it comes to tailgating trucks, there are really great options. However, the Dodge Ram 1500 stands out ahead of the rest. What’s the winning feature? The RamBox Tailgate Management System. The RamBox tailgate system is a lockable, drainable compartment incorporated into the side rail of the truck bed. It is essentially a giant cooler built into the side of your truck.

Not only that but it comes with adjustable dividers so you can do things like put beer on one side and soft drinks on the other. On models with a 6’4” bed, it provides 8.6 cubic feet of storage, while on the 5’7” bed there is 7.3 cubic feet. You can keep a lot of things cool in that space!

6. 2023 Ford F-150

Next on our list of tailgate cars is the Ford F-150. If we were to pick a quintessential tailgating vehicle, we would definitely pick the F-150. It has all the features you could want in a tailgate vehicle. It has excellent towing capacity, an easy-to-climb-in bed, and a really comfortable interior.

The two features that stand out for us though are the tow hooks on the bumper that can easily secure a canopy and the power outlets. Select models of the 2023 Ford F-150 come with two power outlets and two 3.6kW generators. These act as a portable generator that can run for up to an impressive 64 hours! So bring your Margaritaville and all your other favorite tailgating appliances!

7. 2023 Honda HR-V

Bigger is not always better for some tailgaters. City-dwelling tailgaters may not want a large vehicle but still, want some great tailgate features. If you’re one of these people, start by checking out the 2023 Honda HR-V. Though compact, the HR-V has the Magic Seat feature where the rear bench flips and folds flat, giving you a ton of cargo capacity.

They are also fully tech-enabled with features like wifi and a wireless smartphone charging pad. The HR-V also offers driving assistance features that can be really helpful when navigating a parking lot full of tailgaters. All the features you want in a city-friendly vehicle.

8. 2023 Nissan Rogue

Another more compact option is the Nissan Rogue. It features a generous cargo space with an automatic liftgate for easy loading of all your tailgating essentials. The interior is very luxurious and comes with some amazing climate control features that are perfect for cooling off or warming up after a game.

It’s fully tech-enabled with wifi and a wireless charging phone pad. It also has a Bose stereo system to stream the pregame or music. It’s a great option for tailgaters who want some tailgating features but also to drive in the city comfortably.

These new car models are great for tailgaters. If you’re looking for more great advice, make sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and check out our Amazon Storefront.
