Spirit Of The Week: Rum, Part1

We haven’t had a good old fashioned Spirit Of The Week article for a couple of weeks. We have let you down. So how about 2 weeks of rum drinks to ease the pain?

These are courtesy of our friends at A History Of Drinking.

Dino Sour

recipe adapted from Diffordsguide.com

  • 1 oz Light Rum
  • 1 oz Dark Rum
  • 1 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz Simple Syrup
  • 1/2 fresh egg white

Glass: Old Fashioned

Garnish: Lemon slice & cherry on stick (sail)

Shake with ice and strain into an ice filled old fashioned glass.

Raisin in the Rum

  • 1 oz. coconut flavored rum
  • 1 oz. amaretto
  • 2 oz. light rum

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

  • Fresh Lime Juice
  • Fever-Tree Ginger Beer

Build in glass and garnish with lime

Another slightly more risque take on the classic rum and ginger beer classic
