As if celebrating a three-day holiday weekend to kick off summer break wasn’t enough, this Memorial Day weekend offers tailgaters a fabulous array of options for pre-game action or one great excuse after another to gather with friends for watch parties.

Having both the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 running on the same day is like a first round NCAA tournament day – only with higher stakes. We highly recommend you drop everything and spend all day Sunday watching wall-to-wall racing. Here’s a breakdown of that action and more that you don’t want to miss this weekend.

  • Indianapolis 500. 12:00 p.m. Sunday on NBC. The lowdown: After 53 years on ABC, NBC takes over broadcasting rites this year with a star-studded broadcast team that includes Danica Patrick and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
  • Coca-Cola 600. 6 p.m. Sunday on FOX. Kyle Busch is a favorite to repeat after taking the checkered flag last year and has won three times in the first 12 races already of the 2019 season.
  • NCAA men’s lacrosse Final Four. Penn State vs. Yale at noon Saturday on ESPN2 , Duke vs. Virginia at 2:30 p.m. at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Winners play in championship game Monday at 1 p.m. on ESPN2. (Penn State is the No. 1 seed .)
  • French Open. Sunday, first round coverage starts at 6 a.m. on Tennis Channel. Rafael Nadal, ranked No. 2 in the world, guns for his third straight French Open title and 12th overall.
