At first, dill pickle chicken wings may sound a little crazy, until you remember one of the most popular fast food chains uses pickle juice in their recipe (McDonalds!). Using a dill pickle brine, these wings turn out moist and flavorful, with a hint of salt and garlic.
Dill Pickle Chicken Wings
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 2 cups dill pickle juice (the liquid inside of the jar of pickles)
- 2 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tbsp dried dill
- 3 garlic cloves, pressed through a garlic presser
- 1/2 tsp fresh cracked black pepper
- 1/2 tsp table salt
Instructions
- Place chicken wings in a large ziplock bag or stasher bag. Cover with the pickle juice, and seal the bag. Refrigerate for 4 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the avocado oil, dill seasoning, garlic, salt and pepper.
- Remove the wings from the bag, rinse, and pour out the liquid. Place the wings back in the bag and toss with the oil and dill mixture.
- Place the wings on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes, flip, and bake an additional 10 minutes until the chicken registers 165 degrees F. Serve immediately and enjoy!
