Mario Carbone’s Italian Sandwich Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 large Italian hero roll, toasted and cut in half
- 3 thin slices of pepperoni
- 3 thin slices of sopressata
- 3 thin slices genoa salami
- 4 thin slices of ham
- 3 thin slices of mortadella
- 3 thin slices of monterey jack cheese
- 3 Tbsp sliced sweet peppers
- 2 thin slices of heirloom tomato
- 1/4 Cup shredded romaine lettuce
- 2 tbsp Italian red wine vinaigrette
- pinch of salt and fresh cracked black pepper
Instructions
- Starting on the bottom half of the hero roll, stack and fold the sliced meats, cheese, and tomato. Dress the shredded iceberg lettuce with 1 tbsp of vinaigrette and add it to sandwich, finishing with sliced sweet peppers.
- Brush the top half of the roll with the rest of the vinaigrette and sprinkle with a pinch of salt and fresh cracked pepper. Assemble the sandwich, cut it in half and enjoy!
