These pork side bites take some time to put together, but it’s totally worth it when you taste how addictive they are! Plus, making them ahead of time means less stress on game day. Just slow-cook the pork the night before, and then all you need to do is assemble and bake on the day of the party. This way, you get to enjoy the party and impress your friends without being stuck in the kitchen the whole time.
Pork Side Bites
Ingredients
- 2.5 pounds pork shoulder
- 1 package pork side fat or if you get an extra fatty piece of pork shoulder that works too, as does duck fat.
- 6 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup bbq sauce
- 3 boxes of mini phyllo shells
- 12 oz beer of choice
Instructions
- Place pork shoulder and pork side fat in slow cooker with beer. Cook on low for 4 hours and let cool.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- Separate the pork shoulder from bone and remove excess fat from meat from the pork side fat. Combine cuts of meat and continue to shred.
- Place shredded meat in medium size bowl. Add 6 oz of cream cheese and 1 cup of bbq sauce and stir.
- Place a spoonful of pulled pork into each mini phyllo shell. Place on a cooking sheet and back for 10 minutes or until pork is warm.
