The kebob has been a grill favorite for years, uniting both meat and vegetables on a stick. But preparing the kebob can be tricky. There’s only a limited amount of space on the skewer and some of the food breaks off before, during and after the grilling process. Turning the piping-hot food stick is also a pain, and more of the marinade winds up on the bottom of the grill than on the actual food.
Knowing all these pitfalls, the company Fire Wire has created a simple invention that makes kebob preparation a breeze — the flexible grilling skewer. Because it is made of bendable stainless steel, it fits with food on a grill much better than a typical skewer can. Fire Wire’s invention also fits a heck of a lot more food than these other skewer, and because the ends of the skewer can reach past the grill face, they stay cool to the touch when you pick them up.
The fingertip-protecting ends also allow for an easy pickup and 180-degree turn during the grilling process. The skewers also provide a better food grip no matter how much meat you load it up with. But maybe the best part about this tool is the ability to prepare it, bend it and marinate it in a plastic bag that doesn’t take up the entire space in your refrigerator. Now your food can soak up the juices for as long as you want in small plastic bags.
