We have said often on this website that you can tailgate pretty much anywhere. And we mean anywhere. If there is a parking lot, then there is a place for a grill to be setup and a tent and chairs to be set aside that grill.
Well, I have, unfortunately, had to visit a few people in hospitals lately. And we all know that whether a patient or a visitor to the local hospital cafeteria, that the food there leaves much to be desired. But I never really thought too much about it before.
That all changed when I saw a local hot dog vendor selling his wares outside between the main entrance of the hospital and the visitors parking lot. I know that if I was a patient at said medical facility I would be sneaking out their in my woefully covered hospital gown for a dog with mustard. And if a pretzel was available, it would be mine as well. Anything to get away from the hospital food.
We recommend getting your family together, set up all of your tailgate material and celebrate your relative with honor. And if they are up to it, make sure to sneak as much food as you can up to their room.
We here at Inside Tailgating cannot tell you that the hospital will be totally appreciative of your tailgating efforts. Remember that these are the same institutions that charge a good deal for visitor parking, so expect resistance. That is up to you. But that parking lot is not going anywhere……………………
