Made with one of the hottest peppers in the world and served with hot sauce, you may need to call the fire department on these 5-Alarm wings. And the option to toss them in hot sauce at the end just might take this recipe overboard! Make sure to keep the milk within easy reach.
5-Alarm Hot Wings
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wings separated
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp carolina reaper spice
- 1 tbsp baking powder this helps with the crispiness
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup hot sauce of choice for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.
- Rinse the wings and pat them as dry as you can get them. This will help them to get crispy.
- In a bowl, mix the Carolina Reaper spice powder, baking powder, garlic powder, salt and flour until well combined.
- Toss the wings into a large ziplock bag or stasher bag. Add the oil and toss to coat. Sprinkle in the flour and spice mixture and toss to coat.
- Place the wings onto parchment paper lined baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes.
- Flip the wings, then increase oven temp to 425 degrees and bake for another 30 minutes, or until the wings are cooked through and the skins are nice and crispy. Serve with the hot sauce on the side, or toss them in the hot sauce for even hotter wings!
