Mini Meatball Sliders
Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef or whatever ground meat you want to use
- 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 3 garlic cloves, minced or pressed through garlic presser
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, peeled and diced
- 24 oz jar marinara sauce
- 24 sesame seed dinner rolls
- 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Add the ground beef, panko breadcrumbs, milk, garlic, salt, and pepper to a large bowl. Mix it together well with your hands and roll the mixture into heaping-tablespoon-sized balls.
- Heat 2 tbsp of olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until it starts to become translucent, about 4 minutes. Transfer to a plate.
- Add 1 tbsp of olive oil to the skillet. Add the meatballs to the skillet in batches and cook, turning occasionally, until browned all over, about 3 minutes.
- Add all of the meatballs to the skillet, then pour in the marinara sauce and the cooked onions. Cover and simmer over medium heat for 20 minutes.
- When you are ready to serve, split the dinner rolls and sprinkle some mozzarella cheese on the bottom rolls. Top each with a meatball, some sauce, and more mozzarella, and then add the tops of the rolls. You can add a toothpick to keep it all together!
