The Best Drinks for St. Patrick’s Day 2021

St. Patrick’s Day, the high-holy day of the American drinking calendar is nearly here, but green beer, Irish coffees, and gallons of Guinness are not the only St. Patrick’s Day drinks to mark the occasion with. Should you be planning to sit out your local amateur hour and its countless misguided feats of drinking prowess and poor decision making, you may need a few ideas to entertain your guests.

Regardless of their favorite tipple, be it Whiskey, Rum, Tequila, etc, this year’s St. Partick’s Day drink guide should have something for everyone!

St. Patrick’s Day Drink Guide

St. Patrick’s Day Whiskey Cocktails:

SHAMROCK SPRITZER

  • 1 part Kilbeggan® Irish Whiskey
  •  4 parts Apple Juice
  • Lemon-Lime Soda
To Serve: Pour Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey and Apple Juice over ice in a tall glass. Top with lemon-lime soda. Garnish with a lemon.
 

KILBEGGAN® DUBLINER

  • 3 parts Kilbeggan® Irish Whiskey
  • 2 parts Sweet Vermouth
  • 1½ parts Cherry Syrup
  • 1½ parts Cranberry Juice
  • Dash Simple Syrup (optional)
Combine all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake for 60 seconds. Strain neat into a martini glass. Garnish with a black cherry.
 

IRISH STORM

  • 1½ parts Kilbeggan® Irish Whiskey
  • 3 parts Ginger Beer
  • 1 part Fresh Lemon Sour

IRISH BREAKFAST SHOT

Kilbeggan IrishBreakfastShot1
  • ½ part Kilbeggan® Irish Whiskey
  • ½ partk DeKuyper® Buttershots
  • 1 part Orange Juice
  • 1 slide of Bacon
Enjoy the Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey and DuKyper Buttershots, followed immediately by the orange juice. Finish with a slice of bacon.

St. Patrick’s Day Rum Cocktails:

POT OF GOLD

  • 1 1/2 parts Cruzan® 9 Spiced Rum
  • 3/4 part DeKuyper® Orange Curacao
  • 3/4 part Fresh Orange Juice
  • 2 parts Fresh Lemon Sour
Shake ingredients together with ice and strain into a cinnamon and sugar-rimmed cocktail glass. Garnish with a flamed orange peel.
 

IRISH CHERRY SODA

  • 1 part Kilbeggan® Irish Whiskey
  • 1 part Cruzan® Black Cherry
  • 1 part Lemon Lime Soda

Build in an iced highball glass, top with Lemon Lime Soda.

St. Patrick’s Day Vodka Cocktails:

CUCUMBER IRISH BLESSING

Created by David Nepove – National President, U.S. Bartender’s Guild

  • 1½ parts EFFEN® Cucumber Vodka
  • ¾ parts Lime Juice
  • ¾ parts Simple Syrup
  • 1 dash of Fee Brothers® Mint Bitters
  • 6 Mint Leaves
  • Club Soda

Muddle mint with lime juice and a few ice cubes, add to a cocktail shaker with remaining ingredients, except club soda, and shake. Fine strain into a cocktail glass with ice and add club soda.  Garnish with mint sprig.

BELUGA IRISH GOLD COCKTAIL

  • BELUGA Gold Vodka – 1.35 oz.
  • Laurel syrup * – 0.34 oz.
  • Sparkling wine – 3.38 oz.
  • Laurel leaves – 6 g.

Glass: cocktail glass (200 – 300 ml)

Garnish: laurel leaf

Take a shaker, put ice then add vodka and laurel syrup, stir thoroughly. Put in the glass and fill with
sparkling wine up to the rim. Decorate with bay leaves and enjoy this herby St. Patrick’s Day drink. 

* LAUREL SYRUP

to prepare laurel syrup – mix fructose with hot water in equal parts and add 28 fresh bay leaves, boil for 10 minutes and then sift

SULTRY IRISH KISS

  • 1 1⁄2 parts Pucker® Citrus Squeeze™ Vodka
  • 3 Slices of Cucumber
  • Juice of Half a Lime
  • 2 parts Ginger Ale

Add cucumber and lime juice to a cocktail shaker and muddle. Add a scoop of ice and vodka; shake vigorously. Add ginger ale and pour into a Collins glass for a fresh St. Patrick’s Day smacker.

POUR LEAF CLOVER

 “A lucky libation for the Irish occasion. A magically delicious blend of SVEDKA Vodka, fresh lime juice and simple syrup.”

  • 2 parts SVEDKA Vodka
  • 3/4 part fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 part simple syrup
  • Garnish: edible glitter

Muddle mint at bottom of glass and build drink on top over crushed ice (except for bitters, glitter, and mint). Agitate with a spoon (or swizzle), not disturbing the mint at the bottom. Top with ice, rim with glitter. Garnish with mint.

EMERALD SPRITZER

  • 1 1⁄2 parts Pucker® Sour Apple Sass™ Vodka
  • 1 part Lemon Juice
  • 1 part Simple Syrup
  • 1 part Unsweetened Green Tea
  • 10 Mint Leaves, Ripped

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker, Shake, strain and pour into a Collins glass for a perfect St. Patrick’s Day cocktail.

St. Patrick’s Day Tequila Cocktails:

  • Basil
  • Jalapeño
  • 1oz Lime Juice
  • .75oz Agave
  • 2oz Tequila
 Build in shaker, 3 basil leaves, 1 jalapeño, lime juice, agave, muddle add Tequila add ice shake and fine strain over a couple glass garnish with basil leaf and jalapeño

 

LUCKY RITA

Serves 8

  • 2 parts Sauza® Blue 100% Agave Silver Tequila
  • 1 part Dekuyper® Melon Liqueur
  • 4 parts limeade
  • Sugar

In a shaker filled with ice combine all ingredients and shake to chill. Strain into a cocktail glass filled with ice and rimmed with sugar. Garnish with a lime. Enjoy!

  • 1 1/2 oz Partida Reposado
  • 1 1/2 oz Guinness Draft
  • 1/2 oz Tawny Port
  • 1/4 oz Agave Nectar (Cut with water so the Agave Nectar is cut with equal parts water as we do with the Marg)
  • Dash of Angostura Bitters
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled wine glass or small pint glass without ice. Garnish with some grated or ground cinnamon powder.  Guinness note: Take a pint of Guinness before hand and use a bar spoon to stir it up for about 30 secs. This removes some of the Co2.

  • 1oz Lime,
  • .25 St.Germain,
  • .5oz Simple Syrup,
  • 2oz Gin
Build in shaker. half a kiwi, lime juice st.germain, simple syrup muddle and ice shake and strain into a coupe glass garnish with a kiwi wheel

  • ¾ oz. DRAMBUIE®
  • 1½ oz. Dewar’s Scotch Whisky
  • Juice of ½ Lemon
  • 2 oz. Ginger Beer

Glass: Highball or Collins

Garnish: Garnish with a Lemon Twist, serve with a straw.

In a mixing tin half-filled with ice, add: Shake until tin is frosted, strain into a tall glass over fresh ice, add:

ZESTY IRISHMAN 

  • ¾ oz. DRAMBUIE®
  •  1 oz. Irish Whiskey
  • ¼ oz. Triple Sec
  • Juice of ½ Lemon
  • Splash Ginger Ale

Garnish with a lemon twist.

In a mixing tin half-filled with ice, add: Shake until the tin is frosted, strain into a rocks glass filled with ice, add:

GRASSHOPPER

  • ½ oz. DRAMBUIE®
  • ½ oz. Green Crème de Menthe
  • ½ oz. White Crème de Cacao
  • 1 oz. Half-and-Half

Swirl to chill, strain into a martini glass, drizzle ¼ oz. Green Crème de Menthe over top.

 

 

 

SHAMROCKED

  • 2 oz. MIDORI® Melon Liqueur
  • 1/2 oz. Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey
  • 1/2 oz. Carolan’s Irish cream liqueur 

Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake incredibly well. Strain into a shot glass.

Blueberry Mojitio

SASSY SHAMROCK

  • 1 1⁄2 parts Pucker® Sour Apple Sass™ Vodka
  • 1 part Lemon Juice
  • 1⁄2 part Simple Syrup
  • 1⁄2 part Elderflower Liqueur
  • Soda

Add first four ingredients to a cocktail shaker, shake vigorously and strain. Pour into a Collins glass and top with soda.

TOP O’ THE MORNIN’ ICED COFFEE

  • 1 oz Frangelico
  • 1oz Irish crème liqueur
  • 2 oz espresso
  • 2 oz. milk or cream
  • chocolate flakes

Blend ingredients with ice. Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate flakes

 

LUCKY LESUTRA

  • 3oz LeSUTRA Blueberry Sparkling Liqueur
  • 3oz LeSUTRA Peach Sparkling Liqueur
  • Half Fresh Squeezed Lime
  • Muddled Mint
  • Garnish with a Mint Leaf and Loose Blueberries

Build over ice in a Highball Glass
